This is the current weather forecast for Chicago.
So the Polar Dash (according to the Polar Dash's facebook page) is totally on. This race is happening. Tomorrow morning, bright and early. They are saying that all the paths should be clear and everyone is going to have a good time.
I don't believe them. As it turns out, having the race last weekend was NOT dangerous and as a matter of fact it's going to be MORE miserable tomorrow.
I'm leaving the medal behind. It's not because I'm not tough. I can handle it. But I have to take a 40 min bus ride (or longer depending on the conditions of the roads), walk through the snow to get to the actual race site, (get cold and wet in the process), run the the 5K (the easy part), and then fight with how many hundreds of people to get back on the germ-ridden bus with cold shivering people.
No, thank you.
I am going to go to the gym bright and early and stay inside where its warm and dry and run as far as I want to. I would prefer to run farther than a 5K because I want to feel good. I WANT to do the 10K or more. So I'll let you know how it goes at the gym tomorrow.
My beau says he will make me a medal. :)
