Body Confusion

Most of the day I ask myself, "What will make me happy right now?"

Usually, the answer is a nap. It also includes, a snack, getting away from the computer, using the restroom, getting some water. See? SUPER simple things. I'm an easy girl to please.

Towards the end of the day when it's close to closing time, all of these things are "happy-makers" at the same time. I'm hungry, I'm tired (or I have to go work out), should I go to the bathroom now or when I get home, I'm thirsty. This can lead to a very not happy girl on the train ride home.

The thing that I find MOST frustrating is when I am tired and I can't relieve it. And if I can't relieve it I have to find a way to make myself "happy" to relieve the frustration. This usually means I try to replace sleep with food. This doesn't happen as often as you think, however, when it does, it takes a while for "kranky Kristen" to ask herself..."what do you REALLY need? What is REALLY going to make you happy?" Is it a bowl of cereal or is a 20 minute snooze? It's honestly most of the time a nap.

I'm not "cranky" when I'm hungry....I get SNAPPY. And I mean SNAPPY. The beau does not like hungry snappy Kristen. He doesn't really like "kranky Kristen" either but she is MUCH more tolerable. HehHeh.It's easy for me to identify when I'm hungry, but not as easy to identify when I am tired.

The point is, it's hard to be in a cranky tired mode and also try to step out of that for a moment and ask yourself what you need. No, I don't need a nutri-grain bar, I need sleep. So when 5 o'clock rolls around, I just need to be a little more patient if what I REALLY need isn't at my fingertips.

Poor poor "Kranky Kristen".

  1. I think Hungry Alicia is just as intolerable to Marc as Hungry Snappy Kristen is to Ryan LOL
